Based on Actual Events:
Set in Texas in 1870 as the civil war has come and gone, settlers venture out west. However some have already been there

for a long time. They live out on a limb living and fighting through droughts, fire, flood, Indian attacks, lack of food and water at times.

Some return to the east. Others survive and that who is Ethan returns to, the survivors who happen to be his brother Aaron and his wife Martha who along with their children and adopted son Martin continue to live and thrive in the harsh west land.

As Ethan get's reacquainted with his family, it doesn't take long for trouble to start. The very next day Sam Clayton part reverend, part Captain in the Texas Rangers arrives with a posse to find those who stole one of the locals prized cattle. Aaron is told they need his help but Ethan over rules this and tells Aaron to stay close to home to take care of his family.
After the men have ridden a good distance they see one of the killed bulls and realize who stole them were not cattle rustlers. They were Comanches. And Ethan is upset with himself for letting them fool him. He realizes he cannot help anyone at this point. The posse takes off for the closest ranch.

After Ethan arrives to see his brothers home in ruins he searches for anyone who might have survived. No one did. However two children are missing and the same day of the funeral for those that died, Ethan sets out to find the two girls.

The same men from the posse join him but for only a short time. Ethan, Martin and Brad continue on. For nearly ten years now they will ride through deserts, plains, hills and mountains looking for them. Through blizzards that take them hundreds of miles off track to being so close to who they are looking for they don’t even realize it.

But weather and terrain is not the only thing they have to worry about. They ride through multiple areas that are occupied by Indians and Comancheros that have no compassion for what they are looking for and are not happy the men are passing through.

To top things off Ethan has posted a reward for the missing girls. Word does travel fast in the old west. But some could care less of finding and returning the girls to their family and collecting the reward. They set out for Ethan and those with him to just take the money. What happens is not what most would expect.

In the end as the years have passed and life has continued is finding the girls more of duty or just vengeance? As they would not be children anymore but young women. Will they make it back home or will heart break be the only outcome The Searchers find?
